Project Buyer
We are looking for a Project Buyer to manage comprehensive procurement-side implementation projects (PEP) of high or very high value and criticality to the organization, as well as change management within serial projects (SPS).
Your typical workday will include:
- Acting as the main point of contact between the Strategic Purchasing Department and the PEP and SPS Project Groups, representing the Strategic Purchasing Department and the procurement processes (and ensuring compliance) within the project groups.
- Managing a database of prototype suppliers (signing NDAs, concluding contracts).
- Standardizing current procurement processes and creating new procurement processes and tools for their implementation.
- Collecting and preparing data containing technical and quality requirements to ensure the implementation of the procurement strategy for current projects (Project BOM Template).
- Managing a panel of suppliers for production components and negotiating terms of cooperation (including electronic components, insulating materials, inductive and mechanical components).
- Participating in the supplier selection and qualification process, ensuring their compliance with project requirements (time, cost).
- Managing changes in materials/products in collaboration with suppliers (PEP, SPS).
- Conducting activities to ensure timely delivery of projects in the production implementation phase (SOP).
- Monitoring project progress according to schedule, agreeing on technical and commercial terms of cooperation with suppliers to make the most favorable decisions.
- Organizing and leading regular project status reviews for the involved parties (Strategic Buyers).
- Identifying and communicating risks to project groups and the supervisor.
- Achieving the assumed material and investment costs with suppliers.
- Planning and monitoring the supplier selection and approval process, as well as the process of completing component approval documents.
- Ensuring the availability of unapproved and undelivered components/materials/raw materials.
- Effectively performing tasks to achieve KPIs defined for the project.
Skills you need for the role:
- Experience: 5 years of experience in direct production purchasing or 3 years of experience in project management, working in a project team, and working in an international environment; experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
- Knowledge: Understanding of purchasing objectives and methods in a manufacturing company; Specialized knowledge and experience in complex products, production technologies, and negotiation techniques, excellent knowledge of technical documentation (2D drawings, 3D models), knowledge of the local supplier market: Eastern Europe and APAC, specialized knowledge and experience in project management (e.g., PRINCE, ISO 21500, PMBOK).
- Skills: time management and project management, interpersonal skills, relationship building, initiative, focus on continuous improvement, initiative, proactivity, entrepreneurship, presentation skills.
- Education: higher education - technical (mechanical or power electronics engineering preferred) or economics.
- Language skills: very good knowledge of English (minimum B2), German would be an asset.
