IT Engineer Cyber Security (m/k)

IT ENGINEER CYBER SECURITY (m/k)
Location: Opolska, Kraków
Purpose of the position:
The IT Engineer Cyber Security implements, configures and operates core cyber security controls and tools, ensuring that architecture requirements are technically deployed, vulnerabilities are actively managed and operational response capability is maintained in day-to-day security operations.
Your role:
- Implement, configure, administer and continuously improve central IT security solutions such as EDR/MDR, firewalls, web/security gateways and IAM components in coordination with the MSSP.
- Perform continuous vulnerability scanning across IT/OT environments, assess risks and coordinate patch processes with system owners.
- Monitor security logs and SIEM alerts, analyze security incidents and initiate operational countermeasures with MSSP/CIRT.
- Develop scripts and use automation/SOAR tooling to improve recurring security checks and response processes.
- Support IT administrators with secure system configuration, hardening activities and penetration test follow-up.
What we require:
- Degree in computer science, IT security or a comparable technical IT qualification with relevant professional experience.
- Hands-on experience in administering and operating cyber security tools such as SIEM, EDR/MDR, vulnerability scanners, firewalls and security gateways.
- Experience in vulnerability management, security monitoring and operational incident response.
- Strong technical knowledge of network protocols, Windows/Linux security, cloud environments, scripting with Python or PowerShell and security automation/SOAR.
- Knowledge of common security standards and best practices such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0; certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GSEC or vendor certificates are advantageous.
- Implementation and operation of security controls, vulnerability scanning and remediation coordination, SIEM monitoring, incident analysis, automation and technical hardening support.
- Good German and business-fluent English skills
- Analytical mindset, strong problem-solving capability and structured behavior in critical security incidents
