SMA Sunbelt Energy GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology AG. It was founded in 2014 and focuses on off-grid, hybrid and battery solar projects. SMA Sunbelt Energy GmbH concentrates its business on the worldwide Sunbelt regions (Africa, Central America and Caribbean, Middle East, Southeast Asia and Pacific).


Your contribution to the "big picture"


  • You acquire and develop new customers (PV installers, EPCs and distributors) in the target region with focus on Eastern African countries as well as Ghana and Nigeria
  • You have direct revenue accountability for the existing customer network
  • You plan and conduct technical trainings (plant design and after-sales concepts) for our customers in the target region and support customers on local road shows
  • You participate and represent SMA Sunbelt in trade shows and conferences
  • You consult project developers, tender authorities, energy ministries and development banks on technical solutions for e.g. PV mini-grids, PV-Diesel Hybrid and large-scale storage applications
  • You collect, consolidate and analyze market data and customer requirements as strategic input for SMA product management


Your skills are needed


  • You have a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Energy Management, Renewable Energy or similar
  • You have a high Sales attitude and excellent presentation skills
  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience in Sales within the solar industry
  • You have excellent communication skills and deep technical understanding with focus on Off-Grid, PV-Diesel Hybrid and Storage applications
  • You like to work collaboratively
  • You have a high willingness to travel
  • You have very good communication and intercultural skills
  • You speak German and English fluently; additional language skills would be a plus
