Senior Plant Control Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

Large-Scale Renewable Energy & Power Plant Automation Projects

Shape the Future of Power Plant Control

As the demand for complex, large-scale renewable energy and power plant projects continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Plant Control Systems Engineer to strengthen our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing customer-specific plant control solutions, working closely with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and reliable energy management systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge power plant control technologies, grid integration solutions, monitoring systems, and energy market interfaces that support the transition to a sustainable energy future.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support Technical Presales and Solution Development

    • Collaborate with Sales and customers during the presales phase of large-scale Power Plant Manager projects, providing technical expertise, evaluating requirements, and helping define optimal control system solutions.
  • Design and Customize Plant Control Systems

    • Develop customer-specific concepts and adaptations for existing plant control products, ensuring solutions meet technical, operational, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create Hardware and System Specifications

    • Design control system hardware components and independently develop technical specifications, parameter lists, and engineering documentation for project implementation.
  • Drive Project Execution, Testing, and Commissioning

    • Lead technical acceptance testing, commissioning activities, and system validation to ensure reliable performance and successful project delivery.
  • Analyze and Resolve Complex System Issues

    • Investigate faults in complex customer environments, identify root causes, define corrective measures, and work with development teams to continuously improve system performance and reliability.

Your Profile

  • Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline, combined with relevant professional experience in plant control, power systems, automation, or related fields.
  • Control Systems & PLC Expertise

    • Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC), industrial automation systems, and control system design within power generation, renewable energy, or industrial environments.
  • Communication & Networking Knowledge

    • Strong understanding of TCP/IP-based communication protocols, industrial networks, and system integration concepts.
  • Power and Energy Engineering Background

    • Solid knowledge of electrical engineering principles, grid-connected systems, energy management, and power plant operation.
  • Customer-Focused Collaboration Skills

    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, project managers, developers, service teams, and testing departments.
